Public Health Nursing




The Public Health Nurses work to imporve the overall health of our community. They provide instruction to individuals, families and other groups regarding health issues, arrange for immunizations and are involved in helping to contain the spread of disease in our community.

Programming includes:
- Communicable disease control and investigation
- Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Control - confidential follow-up and treatment
- Tuberculosis (TB) Control - skin test, examination, x-rays, follow-up and treatment
- HIV / AIDS - confidential counseling and testing, educational materials
- Lead Poisoning Prevention & Education
- Immunization Clinics - free immunizations for children needing routine vaccinations or boosters according to guidelines established by NYSDOH; charges may apply for adult immunizations; click link for Immunization schedule
- Flu Immunization Clinics - for seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccine; charges apply for adults, children are free; click link for Flu Clinics
- Maternal and Child Health - nursing visits for pregnant moms and families with new babies
