Job Development

Orleans County Job Development Agency is a department of Orleans County government that assists employers, the unemployed, underemployed and the emerging workforce with their employment needs. The department works closely with a wide range of public and private sector partners, including the Orleans Center for Workforce Development, Orleans County Department of Social Services and local businesses, schools, and organizations. It is part of the GLOW (Genesee-Livingston-Orleans-Wyoming) Workforce Investment Area, and as such works with the GLOW Workforce Investment Board to address workforce issues in the GLOW region.

  • Admissions/Marketing Coordinator-Full Time. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with a major in health/human services, business or rehabilitation.Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment planning, psychosocial adjustment, advocacy for persons with disabilities as well as legal, financial and health insurance issues.
  • Cook-Full Time - Qualification/Experience: High School graduate (GED acceptable), Vocational training or equivalent will be considered. One to two (1-2) years  with large volume cooking.  Must be ServSafe Certified within 6 months of employment or with first offered class. Also must maintain Certification every 5 years.
  • HHA – Full time -LTHHC - Qualifications/Experience: NYS certification as a Home Health Aide. One year experience. NYS Driver’s License and dependable transportation. On call responsibilities.

Please join the Mental Health Association in Genesee/Orleans for a free workshop on Wednesday, November 4th from 8:30am to 10am at Tillman's Village Inn, featuring speaker Karl Shallowhorn, Director of Community Advocacy, MHA of Erie County and Compeer of Greater Buffalo. He will present a program focused on the impact of mental health in the workplace. Topics such as the financial implications of depression among employees, risk factors and proactive management will be covered. In addition, information will be provided about the importance of self-care and managing stress in a demanding work environment. Continental Breakfast will be served.
