Eligibility
The participants in the programs operated by Job
Development must meet some eligibility requirements. (Note: All Public Assistance or
Food Stamp recipients are automatically eligible for our services.)
 |
Economic eligibility is best
determined by the office because there are certain types of income that aren't included.
We determine eligibility on your income for the last 6 months prior to the date of
application. You should always fill out a Preliminary Information form to
be determined eligible or not, and if you aren't eligible, the coordinator will direct you
to programs or agencies that might be able to help you. |
 |
Dislocated Worker Status
eligibility is, again determined by information you include in completing the preliminary
information form - but this primarily is not based on your income. Basically, you may be
eligible if you have been laid off from a job and there is little chance that you will be
able to return to the type of work you have been doing. |
 |
Youth Eligibility either be due to
the economic status of the family or sometimes the youth alone. They can also be eligible
if they are identified in their home school by the Committee of Special Education
(i.e. a learning disability, handicap, etc.), determined eligible for the Free Lunch
Program, or if they are in Foster Care. (There are some services available
for youth who don't meet the above requirements if they are referred by another agency or
school.) |
