Public Defender
The Orleans County Public Defender's Office
represents indigent residents accused of criminal activity committed within the County of
Orleans.
This office has represented nearly thousands of
indigent defendants in Orleans County Court, thirteen local Justice Courts,
and the New York State Parole System.
Clients also include inmates incarcerated at the
County's two State Correctional facilities who file habeas Corpus Petitions in Orleans
County Supreme Court.
The Orleans County Public Defender's Office
also fields hundreds of calls from the general public, friends, family of current clients,
and local magistrates regarding the defense of the indigent client in Orleans County.
