E-911 COMMUNICATIONS

The Orleans County E-911 Communications Center is the responsibility of the Sheriffs Office and is located within the Public Safety Building. The center utilizes an 800 MHz trunked radio system and Public Safety Dispatchers provide 24 hour Police, Fire, & Emergency Medical dispatch services for the entire county, which includes thirteen volunteer fire departments, as well as police departments in the incorporated Villages of Albion, Holley, Lyndonville, & Medina. Dispatch personnel can also communicate with County Probation Officers, the New York State Police, New York State Park Police, New York State Division of Parole, & Environmental Conservation Law Enforcement. PSD’s also have radio communications with all highway & public works departments. They can also communicate with surrounding counties.


The Communications Center maintains a 24-hour “Lifeline” service provided to subscribers by the Orleans County Office of the Aging. The center also has direct connections to the New York State Police Information Network (NYSPIN), the NYS Office of Public Security Counter Terrorism Network, and the National Weather Service.
